Jones, a native of
Jones was also named the Baseball Scholar
Athlete-of-the-Year by the ODAC’s Sports Information Directors. A communications major, Jones sports a 3.7
GPA while majoring in sports management as well.
Hampden-Sydney’s John Schoenholtz has been named the
league’s Pitcher-of-the-Year.
Schoenholtz led HSC to the ODAC Tournament Championship by tossing two
complete game victories including a 4-3 decision over
Schoenholtz’s battery mate Jason Bour was selected by the
ODAC skippers as the league’s Rookie-of-the-Year. The Centreville, Va native played in 33 games
hitting at a .371 clip. Bour hit two
home runs and drove in 30 runners on the season.
HSC’s Jeff Kinne was named Coach-of-the-Year by his peers
after leading the sixth-seeded Tigers to their first ODAC title since
1989. Kinne’s squad is currently 24-13
on the year. This is Kinne’s second-year
at the helm of the Tigers and his first Coach-of-the-Year honor.
