SALEM, Va. --- Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) runner-up Randolph-Macon College put three players on the postseason all-star teams, including a pair of All-ODAC First Team

BC's Erika Dirnagl

selections.  Outside hitter Maggie McDearmon headlines the Yellow Jacket picks, sitting atop the conference lists as the 2006 ODAC Player of the Year.

Bridgewater College’s Erika Dirnagl, one of a trio of Eagles on the conference teams, earned the Rookie of the Year honor while Washington & Lee University mentor Bryan Snyder was tabbed the Coach of the Year.  Randolph-Macon Woman’s College won the team Sportsmanship Award, and Randolph-Macon’s Mollee Farrell was chosen as the Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

McDearmon, a senior from Amherst, Virginia, shows up on the All-ODAC First Team for the third time in as many seasons after leading the Jackets to a 25-7 overall record.  McDearmon went into the ODAC championship weekend with 310 kills and a team-best 2.98 kills per game.  She collected 366 digs, good for a 3.52 per game average, and blocked 77 attack attempts.  Teammate Farrell, a senior from Virginia Beach, Va., averaged 2.82 kills per game going into the tournament, knocking out 316 kills to that point.  The former ODAC Rookie

Dirnagl, a middle hitter form Stephens City, Va., finished the season with 313 total kills and a .438 hitting percentage.  She also blocked 134 total attempts, good for 1.40 per game.

Coach Snyder finished his seventh season with the Generals, leading them to a 27-7 record through the ODAC postseason.  He has won the last six ODAC tournament titles at W&L and enjoys a 204-47 (.813) record in blue and white.  He has been named the ODAC Coach of the Year each of the last six seasons.  The Generals will continue their season this weekend in the 2006 NCAA Division III national volleyball tournament.  They open with Vassar College (25-11) at the Stephens Institute of Technology on Thursday, November 9, at 1:00 p.m.
