The
1975 Tournament
All-Tournament Team
Robert Newman, LeMoyne-Owen
Clint Jackson, LeMoyne-Owen
Dan Panaggio, Brockport State
Bruce Hamming, Augustana
Greg Ackles, Glassboro State
LeMoyne-Owen captured the first National Collegiate
Division III Basketball Championship with a 57-54 win over Glassboro
State in the finals held at Albright College. Wittenberg's sticky
defense tested the champions a bit in the quarterfinals, but
LeMoyne-Owen came away with a 68-65 win. LeMoyne-Owen earned its shot
at the title with a 87-71 victory over Augustana of Illinois. Due to
the fact that Brandeis lost to Brockport State, 96-76, in the
quarterfinals and did not make the trip to Albright, Mike Fahey did
not have a chance to make the all tournament team. Despite that, Fahey scored 107 points in three games, the most by
any player in the competition regardless of the number of games
played.
