RMC’s Silva and Wansley Garner All-American Accolades


SALEM, VA—Randolph-Macon’s Megan Silva and Justin Wansley have recently been recognized as basketball All-Americans.  Silva earned first-team honors from D3hoops.com while Wansley was named to the third-team by the website and was a first-team selection by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

 

A junior from Glen Allen, VA., Silva led the Yellow Jackets to a 30-2 record, the ODAC Championship and an appearance in the National Championship game. She averaged an ODAC best 19.5 ppg this season and also led the league in assists (5.5), steals (3.6) and assists to turnover ratio (1.61).   Silva was named ODAC Player-of-Year for the second consecutive season as well as being tabbed as the league’s Women’s Basketball Scholar Athlete-of-the-Year.

 

Wansley, a junior from Richmond, VA was named to ODAC Player-of-the-Year after averaging 18.5 ppg and a league leading 10.1 rpg.  Wansley led the Yellow Jackets to a first-place regular season finish in the league at 13-5 and a 17-10 overall record.
