Washington and Lee Tops ODAC Preseason Swimming Poll

SALEM, VA—Twelve-time defending league champion Washington and Lee earned all seven first-place votes to sit atop the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) preseason swimming poll which is voted on by the league’s head coaches.

The Generals earned a total of 49 points in the poll and had a 8-6 overall record last season.  At last year’s ODAC championships, Washington and Lee (596 pts) was followed by Randolph-Macon in second place (475 pts), R-M Woman’s College (249.5), Sweet Briar (230), Hollins (213) and Guilford (118.5).

RMC received 42 points total to earn the second slot in the poll.  The Yellow Jackets finished last season a 7-2 overall mark, 4-1 in the conference and return three time ODAC Swimmer-of-the-Year and Honorable Mention All-American Erin Ewalt.

Sweet Briar garnered 31 points for the third spot in the poll followed by Randolph-Macon Woman’s (29 points), Hollins (22 points), Guilford (16 points) and Emory Henry (7 points).
