Virginia Wesleyan Tops ODAC Baseball Poll

 

SALEM, VA – Defending Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) baseball champion Virginia Wesleyan has been picked by the league’s coaches to defend its title and repeat in 2005. 

 

In a poll taken of the coaches, the Marlins garnered three first-place votes and a total of 83 points to take the top spot.  ODAC Coach-of-the-Year Nick Boothe, brings back a team that went 31-12 overall and 15-3 in the league.


Bridgewater edged Lynchburg for the second-slot in the poll with 77 points and three first-place votes.  The Eagles finished last season tied for second-place with the Hornets at 14-4 in the league.  BC finished the year 24-16 overall


LC came in third with 76 points and three first-place votes.  Lynchburg went 31-10 a year ago.


Hampden-Sydney (58-points) finished in the fourth-slot, followed by Guilford (49-points), Washington and Lee (47-points), Roanoke (41-points), Eastern Mennonite (27-points), Emory and Henry (16-points) and Randolph-Macon (16-points).
